Job Title: English Teacher

Salary: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time

Are you an enthusiastic English Teacher ready to inspire young people and help them develop confidence in their communication skills? A welcoming secondary school in Sheffield is looking for a committed English Teacher to join their team.

About the Role:

As an English Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, supporting pupils to develop their reading, writing, analysis and communication skills. You will assess progress, adapt your teaching to meet different needs and prepare pupils for future study and examinations.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4.

  • Assess, monitor and record pupil progress.

  • Adapt learning activities to meet different abilities and learning needs.

  • Develop pupils' reading, writing, analytical and communication skills.

  • Prepare pupils effectively for relevant assessments and examinations.

  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support pupil progress.

  • Contribute to the wider life of the school where appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Experience teaching English within a secondary school setting.

  • Strong subject knowledge across the relevant English curriculum.

  • Effective classroom and behaviour management skills.

  • Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills.

  • A genuine passion for delivering high-quality English lessons.

  • An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
