Job Title: SEMH Teacher
Location: Sheffield
Salary: Up to £200 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time

Are you a compassionate and resilient teacher who enjoys helping young people overcome barriers to learning? A supportive school in Sheffield is looking for a dedicated SEMH Teacher to provide high-quality teaching while helping students develop the confidence and skills they need to progress.
About the Role:
As an SEMH Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with social, emotional and mental health needs. You will create a structured classroom environment, build positive relationships with pupils and adapt your teaching to support different learning styles and abilities. Working closely with colleagues and pastoral staff, you will monitor progress and help students work towards their educational and personal goals.

Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the individual needs of students.

Adapt teaching approaches and resources to support pupils with SEMH needs.

Assess, monitor and record student progress.

Establish clear routines and maintain a calm, structured classroom environment.

Manage behaviour consistently and in line with school policies.

Build positive professional relationships with students and colleagues.
-
Work closely with pastoral and support staff to address barriers to learning.

Contribute to individual education and support plans where appropriate.
Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

Experience teaching or supporting students with SEMH needs.

Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.

A calm, patient and consistent approach.

Excellent communication and organisational skills.
-
Ability to adapt lessons to meet a range of individual needs.

A genuine commitment to helping young people achieve their potential.

An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
