Pay: £95 – £120 per day (dependent on experience)

About the Role
A welcoming primary school in South Manchester is seeking a patient, resilient, and dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to support a Key Stage 2 pupil with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs on a 1:1 basis. You will work closely with the SENCO and class teacher to provide tailored emotional regulation strategies and help the student engage positively with the curriculum.
Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 academic, social, and emotional support to a pupil with SEMH needs.

Implement de-escalation strategies and follow personalized behavior management plans.

Help create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment.

Work collaboratively with therapists, parents, and school staff to track progress.
Role Requirements

Prior experience supporting children with SEMH, SEN, or challenging behaviors.

Strong communication skills and a calm, empathetic, yet clear approach.

Team Teach qualification or training in positive handling is highly desirable.
Mandatory DBS & Safeguarding Requirements

Must possess an Enhanced DBS Check (registered on the DBS Update Service) or be fully willing to apply for one prior to start.

Must provide two professional, checkable references covering the last 2 years.
