Job Title: Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
Location: Newcastle
Pay Rate: £90 - £120 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education Newcastle Branch are seeking dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work with fabulous schools in Newcastle. This position is suited to individuals who enjoy providing practical and academic support who may require additional help with their learning. Working closely with teachers and support staff, you will contribute to an inclusive environment where pupils feel encouraged to participate, progress, and achieve.
The Learning Support Assistant provides targeted assistance that helps childern access classroom learning, strengthen essential skills, and become more independent in their education.
Learning Support Assistant Responsibilities:
- Strengthen key learning concepts with young learners who need additional guidance during lessons
- Coordinate small-group activities designed to address specific areas of learning
- Break down classroom tasks into manageable steps to improve pupil understanding
- Encourage learners to take greater responsibility for their work and classroom participation
- Assist teaching staff in identifying areas where students may require further intervention
- Provide constructive encouragement that supports pupils' confidence and motivation
Learning Support Assistant Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people in education or a similar setting
- Ability to respond appropriately to different learning styles and individual needs
- Good communication and interpersonal skills when working with pupils and staff
- Patient, observant, and organised approach to classroom support
- Commitment to promoting equal access to learning and pupil wellbeing
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
