Job Title: Design and Technology Teacher

Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are recruiting skilled Design and Technology Teacher to work in schools across Sheffield. This opportunity is ideal for qualified teachers who can deliver engaging lessons that combine technical knowledge with hands-on learning. You will encourage pupils to think creatively, develop practical skills, and apply design principles to solve real-world challenges.
The Design and Technology Teacher will deliver engaging practical and theoretical lessons that develop pupils' creativity, technical ability, and confidence while preparing them for further study and future careers.
D&T Teacher Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver practical Design and Technology lessons that inspire creativity and innovation
- Demonstrate safe and effective use of workshop tools, machinery, and specialist equipment
- Guide pupils through the complete design process, from initial concepts to finished products
- Assess coursework and practical projects, providing constructive feedback to support improvement
- Maintain a safe, organised, and well-resourced learning environment in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Contribute to curriculum development, departmental planning, and enrichment activities that promote STEM and design skills
DT Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential
- Experience teaching Design and Technology within a secondary school setting
- Strong knowledge of one or more Design and Technology specialisms
- Ability to deliver engaging practical lessons while maintaining excellent classroom management
- Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
