Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Sheffield
Pay Rate: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are looking to recruit enthusiastic Teaching Assistant (TA) for amazing schools in Sheffield. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who are passionate about education and enjoy working closely with pupils to help them achieve their full potential.

The Teaching Assistant works alongside teaching staff to provide academic, pastoral, and classroom support, ensuring every pupil receives the guidance they need to make meaningful progress.

Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Deliver targeted learning support to individuals and small groups under the guidance of the class teacher
  • Adapt classroom resources and activities to meet the diverse needs of pupils
  • Encourage pupils to develop problem-solving skills, confidence, and independent learning habits
  • Support classroom organisation, including preparing learning materials and maintaining an effective learning environment
  • Promote positive behaviour by reinforcing classroom expectations and recognising pupil achievements
  • Assist with monitoring pupil progress and contribute feedback during planning and review discussions

Teaching Assistant Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational or similar setting is desirable
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive, approachable attitude
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other school staff
  • Patient, organised, and adaptable approach to supporting pupils
  • Commitment to promoting inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
