Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Sheffield
Pay Rate: £460 - £650 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are recruiting proactive Cover Supervisor to work with amazing schools in Sheffield. We would like to hear from individuals who can confidently supervise lessons, maintain a positive learning environment, and support pupils in achieving lesson objectives during teacher absences.
The Cover Supervisor (CS) provides continuity in learning by supervising pre-planned lessons, promoting positive behaviour, and ensuring pupils remain focused and productive throughout the school day.
Responsibilities of Cover Supervisor:
- Facilitate pre-planned lessons while ensuring pupils remain on task throughout the session
- Establish a respectful classroom atmosphere by reinforcing school expectations and routines
- Encourage pupils to work independently while providing clarification on lesson instructions where appropriate
- Respond appropriately to classroom incidents and follow school behaviour management procedures
- Complete lesson reports detailing pupil engagement, behaviour, and completed work for teaching staff
- Support the smooth day-to-day operation of the school by covering a variety of subjects and year groups
Requirements for Cover Supervisor:
- Previous experience working with children or young people in a school setting or similar
- Strong communication and classroom leadership skills
- Ability to remain calm, organised, and adaptable in different classroom settings
- Confidence managing groups of pupils with professionalism and consistency
- Genuine interest in supporting education and pupil development
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
