Job Title: Behaviour Support
Location: Sheffield
Pay Rate: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term
Can you encourage positive behaviour and help pupils develop the confidence to succeed both inside and outside the classroom?
GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are looking to recruit dedicated Behaviour Support for welcoming schools across Sheffield. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working closely with young people, providing guidance and encouragement to help them overcome behavioural, emotional, and social challenges. You will become an important part of the school's pastoral team, helping pupils engage positively with learning and school life.
The Behaviour Support has the opportunity to strengthen pupils' emotional wellbeing and behaviour through consistent mentoring, structured support, and collaborative working with teaching and pastoral staff.
Behaviour Support Responsibilities:
- Build positive mentoring relationships that encourage pupils to make responsible choices
- Deliver behaviour interventions that improve engagement, attendance, and classroom participation
- Support pupils during challenging situations using positive behaviour management techniques
- Work with pastoral teams to develop and review individual behaviour support plans
- Encourage pupils to develop resilience, self-awareness, and effective communication skills
- Assist with restorative conversations and conflict resolution to promote positive relationships
Behaviour Support Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people in education, mentoring, youth work, or care
- Strong understanding of behaviour management and pupil support strategies
- Ability to remain calm, confident, and professional under pressure
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Passion for helping young people achieve positive educational and personal outcomes
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
