Salary Scale: £92 – £115 per day (Depending on experience)

Are you a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant looking to inspire and support young people in their educational journey?

GSL Education Hull Branch are currently seeking a Teaching Assistant to work across a range of supportive and forward-thinking schools in York. We are looking for a caring, motivated, and adaptable individual who is passionate about helping students achieve their academic, social, and personal goals within a positive learning environment.

Teaching Assistant Role:

The successful Teaching Assistant will work alongside teachers and support staff to provide high-quality classroom assistance, helping students remain engaged, confident, and motivated throughout the school day. We are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant who can build positive relationships with young people, provide tailored learning support, and contribute to an inclusive and welcoming school community.

Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students across a range of subjects and abilities
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and preparing learning resources
  • Support students with SEND, SEMH, or additional learning needs where required
  • Encourage positive behaviour, participation, and independence within the classroom
  • Monitor student progress and communicate effectively with teachers and the wider support team
  • Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment for all students

Teaching Assistant Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational or support setting is desirable
  • A genuine passion for supporting students' learning and personal development
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
  • A patient, flexible, and proactive approach to supporting young people
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities
  • An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
  • An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
