Salary Scale: £34,068 to £52,834 per annum MPS/UPS

GSL Education Hull Branch are currently searching for a Secondary Teacher to work across a range of forward-thinking and supportive secondary schools in York. We are looking for a passionate, knowledgeable, and adaptable educator who can deliver engaging lessons, foster a love of learning, and help students achieve their full academic potential. We welcome applications from teachers of a range of secondary subjects, including English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities, Modern Foreign Languages, Design & Technology, Computing, PE, and other curriculum areas.
Secondary Teacher Role:
The successful Secondary Teacher will join a dedicated teaching team, delivering high-quality lessons and creating an inclusive classroom environment where students are encouraged to achieve their best. We are looking to recruit a Secondary Teacher who can inspire confidence, adapt teaching to meet diverse learning needs, and contribute positively to the wider school community.
Secondary Teacher Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that promote excellent learning outcomes
- Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and learning styles
- Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing constructive feedback to support achievement
- Establish a positive classroom culture that promotes respect, participation, and positive behaviour
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and wider school staff to support student development
- Contribute to the wider life of the school through meetings, enrichment activities, and professional development opportunities
Secondary Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Experience teaching within a secondary school environment in one or more curriculum subjects
- Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills
- A commitment to delivering inclusive, high-quality teaching and learning experiences
- A thorough understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and current educational practices
- An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
- An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
