Salary: £460 - £650 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)

Are you confident leading a classroom and looking to gain valuable experience in education? A welcoming secondary school in Worksop is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join their team from September 2026.

About the Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise lessons in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring students remain engaged with the work that has been set. You will help maintain a positive learning environment, manage classroom behaviour effectively and support students in staying focused throughout the school day. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers or experienced education professionals looking to broaden their classroom experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise whole-class lessons using the work provided by teaching staff.

  • Maintain a calm, structured and productive classroom environment.

  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's policies.

  • Support students with their learning and encourage active participation.

  • Record attendance and provide feedback to teaching staff following lessons.

  • Build positive relationships with students and colleagues across the school.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.

  • Confident managing groups of students in a classroom setting.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A calm, organised and adaptable approach.

  • The ability to follow lesson plans and school procedures.

  • An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.

  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
