Salary: Up to £200 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time

Are you a dedicated teacher with a passion for supporting young people with social, emotional and mental health needs? A welcoming specialist school in Sheffield is looking for a committed SEMH Teacher to join their team from September 2026.
About the Role:
As an SEMH Teacher, you will deliver engaging and well-planned lessons that meet the individual needs of students with social, emotional and mental health needs. You will create a structured and supportive classroom environment, helping pupils develop academically, socially and emotionally while building their confidence and resilience. Working closely with support staff and other professionals, you will play an important role in helping every student achieve their potential.

Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the needs of students with SEMH needs.

Assess, monitor and record student progress.

Adapt teaching strategies to support individual learning and behaviour needs.

Create a positive, structured and inclusive classroom environment.

Manage behaviour consistently in line with the school's policies.

Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, carers and external professionals.

Contribute to the wider life of the school where appropriate.
Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

Experience teaching children or young people with SEMH or additional needs is desirable.

Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.

Strong communication and organisational skills.

A patient, resilient and adaptable approach to teaching.

An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
