KS2 Teacher

Location: Canterbury, Kent
Salary: £120 - £250 per day (depending on experience)
Start date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, Long-term

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate KS2 Teacher to join a vibrant and welcoming primary school located in the historic cathedral city of Canterbury. The selected KS2 Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality education to a Key Stage 2 class, helping pupils to achieve their full potential in a supportive and stimulating environment.

The school is a well-established and highly regarded primary school, recently rated 'Good' by Ofsted, which praised the school's warm and inclusive atmosphere and strong commitment to pupil well-being and personal development. The successful KS2 Teacher will join a collaborative and supportive team of professionals who are committed to excellence in primary education.

As a KS2 Teacher, you will be expected to:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes high standards of behaviour and achievement.
  • Assess, record, and report on pupil progress, using data to inform future planning and targeted support.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues to support each child's development.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities, school events, and pastoral initiatives.

To be considered for this KS2 Teacher role, the candidate must:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Have experience teaching in a UK primary school, preferably within Key Stage 2.
  • Possess a strong understanding of the primary curriculum and assessment frameworks.
  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Meet GSL's safer recruitment background checks.
  • Have a Child Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
