Are you a Psychology Graduate eager to gain hands-on experience supporting young people in a secondary school environment?

GSL Education Hull Branch are currently searching for a Psychology Graduate to work within a supportive and inclusive secondary school in North Yorkshire. We are looking for a compassionate, motivated, and proactive graduate who is keen to apply their knowledge of psychology to support students' learning, behaviour, and emotional wellbeing while gaining valuable experience for a future career in education, psychology, or mental health.

Psychology Graduate Role:

The successful Psychology Graduate will work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to provide tailored support for students who may require additional academic, behavioural, or emotional guidance. We are looking to recruit a Psychology Graduate who can build positive relationships with young people, encourage resilience, and help create an inclusive learning environment where every student can succeed.

Psychology Graduate Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with a range of learning, behavioural, and emotional needs
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and adapting learning activities where appropriate
  • Support students with SEND, SEMH, Autism, ADHD, or other additional needs to access learning successfully
  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and student engagement across the school day
  • Monitor student progress and communicate observations with teaching and pastoral staff
  • Work collaboratively with school staff and parents to support students' academic and personal development

Psychology Graduate Requirements:

  • A degree in Psychology or a closely related subject
  • A genuine interest in pursuing a career in educational psychology, teaching, counselling, or mental health support
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to working with young people
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
  • An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
