Job Title: PE Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)

Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are looking to appoint enthusiastic Physical Education Teacher to work with amazing schools in Barnsley. This opportunity is ideal for qualified teachers who can motivate pupils to enjoy physical activity, develop sporting skills, and build confidence through inclusive and engaging lessons.
The PE Teacher delivers dynamic physical education lessons, promotes active participation, and encourages pupils to develop resilience, discipline, and a lifelong appreciation for health and fitness.
PE Teacher Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver a broad programme of practical and theory-based PE lessons
- Develop pupils' physical skills through a variety of individual and team sports
- Encourage participation by creating an inclusive environment for learners of all abilities
- Evaluate pupil performance and provide guidance to support continuous improvement
- Organise extracurricular clubs, sports festivals, and competitive fixtures where appropriate
- Ensure equipment, facilities, and activities comply with health and safety requirements
PE Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential
- Experience teaching Physical Education within a secondary school environment
- Ability to deliver engaging lessons across a range of sporting disciplines
- Strong leadership, organisation, and classroom management skills
- Commitment to promoting pupil wellbeing, teamwork, and healthy lifestyles
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
