Pay Rate: £460 - £650 per week (depending on experience)

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch have an exciting opportunity for motivated Cover Supervisors to support schools across Doncaster. This position is well suited to individuals who can confidently manage classrooms, encourage positive behaviour, and ensure pupils remain engaged with their learning in the absence of the regular class teacher. It is an excellent role for aspiring teachers or experienced education professionals seeking flexible school-based work.
The Cover Supervisor (CS) maintains a focused learning environment by delivering pre-set lesson activities, promoting positive behaviour, and ensuring pupils continue to make progress throughout the school day.
Responsibilities of Cover Supervisor:
- Supervise whole-class learning using lesson plans provided by teaching staff
- Encourage pupils to stay focused, complete tasks, and participate positively during lessons
- Maintain a calm, safe, and well-managed classroom environment
- Record attendance, lesson outcomes, and any behavioural or safeguarding concerns
- Adapt confidently to different subjects and year groups as required
- Build positive relationships with pupils and work collaboratively with school staff
Requirements for Cover Supervisor:
- Previous experience working with children or young people is advantageous
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Ability to remain confident, organised, and professional in a variety of classroom settings
- Flexible approach with the ability to adapt to different schools and daily routines
- Passion for supporting education and helping pupils succeed
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
