GSL Education Hull Branch are currently seeking a Nursery Teacher to work within a supportive and inclusive specialist educational setting in Scarborough. We are looking for a creative, nurturing, and dedicated educator who is committed to fostering children's early learning, communication, and personal development within a safe and engaging environment.

Nursery Teacher Role:

The successful Nursery Teacher will deliver high-quality early years education, creating stimulating learning experiences that support each child's individual development. We are looking to recruit a Nursery Teacher who can build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues while adapting teaching approaches to meet a range of developmental and additional learning needs.

Nursery Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, play-based learning activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment that supports children's learning and wellbeing
  • Assess, monitor, and record children's progress to inform future planning and development
  • Support children with SEND, including Autism, speech and language, and communication needs where appropriate
  • Encourage children's social, emotional, physical, and communication development through positive interactions
  • Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and the wider school team to achieve the best outcomes for every child

Nursery Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification with experience in Early Years education
  • Sound knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum and child development
  • Experience supporting children with SEND or additional learning needs is advantageous
  • Excellent communication, classroom management, and organisational skills
  • A caring, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting young children's learning and development
  • An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
  • An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
