Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are seeking compassionate and resilient SEMH Teacher to join amazing schools in Sheffield. This rewarding opportunity is ideal for qualified teachers who can create structured, nurturing learning environments that promote emotional wellbeing, resilience, and academic progress.
The Social, Emotional and Mental Health Teacher delivers tailored learning experiences, builds trusting relationships with pupils, and promotes positive behaviour through inclusive and therapeutic teaching approaches.
SEMH Teacher Responsibilities:
- Design personalised learning programmes that reflect pupils' individual strengths and needs
- Deliver engaging lessons using flexible teaching strategies that support emotional regulation
- Foster positive relationships that encourage trust, confidence, and participation in learning
- Apply restorative and trauma-informed approaches to promote positive behaviour and wellbeing
- Monitor academic, behavioural, and emotional progress, adapting support where necessary
- Collaborate with families, SENCOs, pastoral teams, and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for pupils
SEMH Teacher Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential
- Experience teaching pupils with SEMH needs or within specialist education settings
- Strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices and behaviour support strategies
- Ability to create calm, structured, and engaging learning environments
- Excellent communication, resilience, and relationship-building skills
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
