Job Title: Design and Technology Teacher

Pay Rate: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are inviting applications from skilled Design and Technology Teacher to work in schools across Sheffield. This role is ideal for qualified teachers who are passionate about combining creativity with practical skills, enabling pupils to develop technical knowledge, innovation, and confidence through hands-on learning experiences.

The Design and Technology Teacher will deliver engaging practical and theoretical lessons, encouraging pupils to design, create, evaluate, and solve real-world problems while maintaining high standards of safety and achievement.

D&T Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Deliver inspiring lessons across Design and Technology in line with the secondary curriculum
  • Teach practical workshop skills while promoting safe and responsible use of equipment
  • Encourage creativity, innovation, and problem-solving through project-based learning
  • Assess pupils' work and provide constructive feedback to support continuous progress
  • Prepare and maintain materials, tools, and workshop resources to ensure effective lesson delivery
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and support departmental initiatives and enrichment activities

DT Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential
  • Experience teaching Design and Technology within a secondary school setting
  • Strong subject knowledge across one or more DT specialisms
  • Ability to create an engaging and inclusive classroom environment
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and classroom management skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
