Job Title: Behaviour Support
Location: Sheffield
Pay Rate: £460 - £650 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term
Can you help pupils overcome barriers to learning through patience, consistency, and encouragement?
GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are recruiting dedicated Behaviour Support to work with schools in Sheffield. We would like to hear from the individuals who are passionate about promoting positive behaviour and helping pupils develop the confidence and resilience needed to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
The Behaviour Support is going to play a vital role in fostering a calm and inclusive learning environment, enabling pupils to engage positively with their education and achieve their potential.
Behaviour Support Responsibilities:
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and personal growth
- Deliver targeted behaviour interventions in line with individual support plans
- De-escalate challenging situations using appropriate behaviour management strategies
- Work alongside teachers to remove barriers that impact learning and participation
- Encourage pupils to develop self-regulation, resilience, and positive social skills
- Maintain accurate records of behavioural progress and communicate updates to relevant staff
Behaviour Support Requirements:
- Experience supporting children or young people in education, youth work, care, or a related setting
- Strong understanding of positive behaviour management techniques
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in challenging situations
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Genuine commitment to safeguarding and improving outcomes for young people
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
