Pay Rate: £460 - £650 per week (depending on experience)

Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are seeking dependable Cover Supervisor to work in schools across Sheffield. This rewarding opportunity is ideal for confident individuals who can supervise classes, uphold high expectations, and ensure pupils remain engaged during teacher absences.
The Cover Supervisor (CS) will oversee lessons using pre-prepared work, maintain a productive classroom atmosphere, and support pupils in remaining focused throughout the school day.
Cover Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Supervise whole classes using lesson plans provided by teaching staff
- Maintain a purposeful learning environment through effective behaviour management
- Ensure pupils remain engaged and complete tasks within the allocated lesson time
- Respond confidently to classroom situations while following school procedures
- Record attendance, behaviour, and lesson outcomes for the returning teacher
- Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive atmosphere across all lessons
Cover Supervisor Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people in school setting
- Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills
- Confidence managing groups of pupils across different subjects
- Professional, adaptable, and reliable approach to classroom supervision
- Commitment to safeguarding and supporting pupils' wellbeing
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
