GSL Education Hull branch are currently searching for a dedicated Early Years Teacher to work within a specialist educational setting in Scarborough. We are looking for an inspiring teacher who is passionate about delivering high-quality early years education while supporting children with a range of additional learning needs in a caring, inclusive, and child-centred environment.

As an Early Years Teacher, you will plan and deliver stimulating learning experiences that support children's academic, social, emotional, and physical development. Working alongside a skilled multidisciplinary team, you will create a safe and nurturing classroom where every child is encouraged to explore, communicate, and achieve their individual potential.

Key Responsibilities as an Early Years Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, play-based learning activities in line with the EYFS framework, adapting lessons to meet individual learning needs.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that promotes curiosity, creativity, and independence.
  • Support children's communication, social, emotional, and physical development through structured and child-led learning opportunities.
  • Assess, monitor, and record children's progress, using observations to inform future planning and targeted support.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, families, and external professionals to support each child's learning and wellbeing.
  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional development, and safeguarding while ensuring every child feels valued and supported.

Early Years Teacher Minimum Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised Early Years teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching within an Early Years setting with a strong understanding of the EYFS framework.
  • Experience supporting children with SEND or additional learning needs is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, classroom management, and organisational skills.
  • A caring, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting young learners.
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
