Salary Scale: £92 – £115 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education Hull branch are currently hiring a committed Teaching Assistant to work within a specialist educational setting in Scarborough. We are looking for a compassionate and proactive individual who is passionate about supporting students with a range of learning, communication, and social needs, helping them to thrive in a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and specialist support staff to provide personalised support for students both inside and outside the classroom. You will play an important role in promoting independence, building confidence, and helping students develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
Main Responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant:
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students with additional learning needs, helping them access the curriculum effectively.
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated learning activities tailored to individual student needs.
- Support students' communication, emotional wellbeing, social development, and independence throughout the school day.
- Promote positive behaviour by using consistent and supportive behaviour management strategies.
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and the wider support team.
- Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that encourages every student to succeed.
Teaching Assistant Minimum Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational, care, or support setting is desirable.
- Experience supporting students with SEND, Autism, SEMH, or additional learning needs is advantageous.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- A patient, caring, and adaptable approach to supporting learners with diverse needs.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
