Job Title: Early Years Practitioner
Location: Barnsley
Pay Rate: £460–£600 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education are working with vibrant Early Years schools in Barnsley to recruit Early Years Practitioner. The ideal candidate will be able to create engaging learning experiences, support children's development, and contribute to a safe and stimulating environment where every child can thrive.

The Early Years Practitioner (EYP) will focus on fostering children's social, emotional, physical, and educational development through creative and child-centred learning opportunities.

Responsibilities of EYP:

  • Help deliver activities that support children's early development
  • Observe children's development and contribute to progress records and assessments
  • Promote communication, creativity, and social interaction through play-based learning
  • Establish positive routines that support children's wellbeing and independence
  • Work with colleagues and families to support children's development
  • Maintain a safe, welcoming, and stimulating environment for all children

Requirements for EYP:

  • Relevant Early Years qualification or equivalent is desirable
  • Understanding of the EYFS framework and child development principles
  • Ability to create engaging and inclusive learning experiences
  • Strong observational skills and attention to developmental progress
  • Positive, caring, and energetic approach to working with young children
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
