Are you a caring and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity to support students in their learning and development?
GSL Education Hampshire & Dorset SEN branch are seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to work in schools across Winton, providing valuable classroom support and helping to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
The successful Teaching Assistant will work alongside teachers and support staff to assist pupils with their academic, social, and emotional development. You will provide one-to-one and small group support, encourage confidence and independence, and help students overcome barriers to learning while ensuring they receive the support they need to succeed.
Responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant:
- Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with varying learning needs.
- Assist pupils with classroom activities, educational tasks, and learning resources.
- Encourage positive behaviour and promote student engagement.
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
- Support students with SEND where required, adapting activities to meet individual needs.
- Assist with classroom preparation and organisation of learning materials.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and other professionals to support student development.
Requirements of a Teaching Assistant:
- Previous experience working with children or young people in a school or similar setting is desirable.
- CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or an equivalent qualification is desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Patient, caring, and adaptable approach to supporting learning.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A genuine passion for supporting children's education, wellbeing, and personal development.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply via GSL Education.
