Are you a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role in education?
GSL Education Hampshire & Dorset SEN branch are seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to work in schools across Eastleigh, supporting teachers and helping students achieve their full potential in a positive and inclusive learning environment.
The successful Teaching Assistant will work closely with classroom teachers to provide academic, social, and emotional support to pupils. You will assist with classroom activities, deliver targeted support to individuals and small groups, and help create an engaging atmosphere where every student can flourish.
Responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant:
- Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students who require additional assistance.
- Assist pupils with classroom activities, educational resources, and learning tasks.
- Encourage positive behaviour and promote active participation in lessons.
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Support students with SEND where appropriate, adapting activities to meet individual learning needs.
- Prepare classroom materials and assist with lesson organisation.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student development.
Requirements of a Teaching Assistant:
- Previous experience working with children or young people in a school or similar setting is desirable.
- CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or an equivalent qualification is desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Patient, caring, and adaptable approach to supporting learning.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A genuine passion for helping children reach their full potential.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply via GSL Education.
