Salary: £95 – £115 per day (Depending on Experience)

GSL Education Newcastle are delighted to be working with a welcoming and inclusive school in the Sunderland area to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA). This rewarding role is ideal for experienced Teaching Assistants looking to take the next step in their career, supporting pupils' learning, leading small groups, and delivering lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
Key Responsibilities of the Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA):
- Deliver planned lessons and learning activities across a range of subjects and year groups when required.
- Provide targeted intervention support to individuals and small groups to raise attainment and progress.
- Work collaboratively with teachers to plan, prepare, and adapt learning materials.
- Support pupils with varying learning needs, ensuring an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
- Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
- Promote positive behaviour and help create a safe, supportive classroom atmosphere.
Requirements for the Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Role:
- Previous experience working within a school setting as a Teaching Assistant, HLTA, or similar role.
- HLTA status or a relevant qualification is desirable.
- Strong classroom management skills and confidence leading learning activities independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A good understanding of the National Curriculum and effective teaching support strategies.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
