Job Title: Primary Supply Teacher

Contract Type: Temporary, Full Time, Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2026
Salary Scale: £130 - £180 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education Hull branch are currently hiring enthusiastic Primary Supply Teachers to work in primary schools across York and the surrounding areas. As a Primary Supply Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons, maintain a positive classroom environment, and ensure continuity of learning during teacher absences. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are passionate about making a positive impact across a variety of primary school settings.
Main Responsibilities as a Primary Supply Teacher:
- Deliver engaging lessons in line with the school's curriculum and lesson plans, or plan lessons where required.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment that supports effective learning.
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of pupils with varying abilities and learning needs.
- Assess pupil understanding during lessons and provide constructive feedback where appropriate.
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour, attendance, and student engagement.
- Follow school safeguarding policies and work collaboratively with staff to support pupil wellbeing and achievement.
Primary Supply Teacher Minimum Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching within a primary school setting is desirable, although ECTs are welcome to apply.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- A flexible, reliable, and adaptable approach to working in different school environments.
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
