PE Teacher
Location: Scarborough, North Yorkshire
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-Time, Part Time, Supply, Temporary
Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)
GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated PE Teacher to work in secondary schools and specialist provisions across Scarborough from September.

Alongside opportunities within mainstream secondary schools, there are also opportunities to work in specialist provisions, supporting students with a range of additional learning needs, including SEND, SEMH, and communication needs. These roles require a flexible and inclusive approach to ensure every student can participate, achieve, and enjoy physical education.
About the Role
As a PE Teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging Physical Education lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 and BTEC where appropriate.
- Inspire students to develop confidence, resilience, teamwork, and a positive attitude towards physical activity.
- Deliver a broad and balanced PE curriculum, adapting lessons to meet the needs of all learners.
- Assess, monitor, and support student progress, encouraging participation and achievement.
- Maintain high standards of behaviour, safety, and wellbeing during practical lessons and sporting activities.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to promote extracurricular sport and enrichment opportunities where appropriate.
- Adapt your teaching approach to support students in both mainstream secondary schools and specialist education settings.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Physical Education within a secondary school setting.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring young people through sport and physical activity.
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
- The ability to motivate and engage students of all abilities.
- A flexible and adaptable approach, with an interest in working across both mainstream and specialist provisions.
- Experience supporting students with SEND and/or SEMH would be advantageous but is not essential.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
