Teacher of Maths
Location: Scarborough, North Yorkshire
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-Time, Part Time, Supply, Temporary
Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)
GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of Maths to work in secondary schools and specialist provisions across Scarborough from September.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate Maths Teacher to inspire young people and help them develop confidence and problem-solving skills through engaging and inclusive teaching. Alongside opportunities within mainstream secondary schools, there are also opportunities to work in specialist provisions, supporting students with a range of additional learning needs, including SEND, SEMH, and communication needs, in supportive and nurturing learning environments.
About the Role
As a Teacher of Maths, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging Maths lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 where appropriate.
- Inspire students to develop confidence in mathematics through creative and engaging teaching.
- Create a positive, inclusive learning environment where every student is encouraged to succeed.
- Assess, monitor, and support student progress, adapting teaching to meet individual learning needs.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and pastoral teams to promote high standards of teaching and learning.
- Maintain effective classroom management and high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and achievement.
- Adapt your teaching approach to meet the needs of students in both mainstream secondary schools and specialist education settings where required.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Maths within a secondary school setting.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring students to achieve in mathematics.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- A commitment to raising attainment and supporting all learners to achieve their potential.
- A flexible and adaptable approach, with an interest in working across both mainstream and specialist provisions.
- Experience supporting students with SEND and/or SEMH would be advantageous but is not essential.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
