Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)

GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Science to work in secondary schools across Scarborough from September.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate Science Teacher to inspire young people and deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. Whether you're an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT), we would love to hear from individuals who are committed to helping students develop a curiosity and appreciation for Science.

About the Role

As a Teacher of Science, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons that inspire and challenge students.
  • Teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 where appropriate.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.
  • Assess, monitor, and support student progress, adapting teaching to meet individual learning needs.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to promote high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Maintain effective classroom management and uphold high expectations for behaviour and achievement.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Science within a secondary school setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring the next generation of scientists.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • A commitment to raising achievement and supporting every learner to reach their full potential.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
