Teaching Assistant – SEN School (Bank Staff)

Location: Basingstoke, Hampshire

Salary: £14.24 per hour 

We are looking for enthusiastic and compassionate Teaching Assistants to join a welcoming SEN school in Basingstoke on a flexible bank basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with children and want the flexibility to fit work around their own commitments.

As a Bank Teaching Assistant, you will provide support across the school, helping pupils access learning, develop independence, and engage positively in their education.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism, learning difficulties, and complex needs
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support within the classroom
  • Help students develop confidence, communication, and independence skills
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
  • Assist with learning activities, personal development, and daily routines
  • Work closely with teachers and the wider support team to create a safe and inclusive learning environment

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a genuine passion for supporting children and young people
  • Is patient, caring, and adaptable
  • Can build positive relationships with pupils
  • Works well as part of a team
  • Has experience working with children, young people, care, or support settings (desirable but not essential)

Previous SEN experience is welcomed, but full training and support can be provided for the right candidate.
