Contract Type: Temporary, Supply, Full-Time
Start Date: September 2026
Salary Scale: £92 – £115 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education Hull branch are currently hiring a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to work within a supportive secondary school in North Yorkshire. We are looking for a proactive and empathetic individual who is committed to promoting positive behaviour, improving student engagement, and helping young people achieve their academic and personal potential.
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with students who require additional behavioural and pastoral support. You will collaborate with teachers, pastoral leaders, and families to implement effective intervention strategies, enabling students to develop resilience, confidence, and a positive attitude towards learning.
Main Responsibilities as a Behaviour Mentor:
- Provide one-to-one and small-group mentoring for students with behavioural, emotional, or pastoral needs.
- Implement positive behaviour strategies and support plans to improve engagement and classroom participation.
- Build trusting relationships that promote confidence, resilience, and emotional wellbeing.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and pastoral teams to support individual student progress.
- Monitor behaviour, attendance, and engagement, maintaining accurate records and providing regular feedback.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment that encourages positive outcomes for all students.
Behaviour Mentor Minimum Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people in a mentoring, pastoral, behaviour support, or educational setting is desirable.
- Strong behaviour management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach to supporting young people.
- Ability to build positive relationships and motivate students to achieve their potential.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
