Maths Teacher

Location: Lewisham
Salary: £200 - £275 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education London are seeking a passionate Maths Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Lewisham on either a long-term or permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity to inspire students and help them develop confidence and success in mathematics.

As a Maths Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging Maths lessons across relevant key stages, supporting students according to the curriculum and syllabus. This role is ideal for an educator who is committed to raising attainment, encouraging problem-solving skills, and fostering a positive attitude towards mathematics.

Responsibilities of a Maths Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Maths lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Support students according to the curriculum and syllabus.
  • Prepare students for internal assessments and external examinations.
  • Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of learners with varying abilities.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Encourage students to develop analytical thinking, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Promote positive behaviour and maintain high expectations within the classroom.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and school staff to support student achievement.

Maths Teacher Requirements:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
  • Previous experience teaching Maths within a secondary school setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge of the Maths curriculum.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply via GSL Education.
