Salary: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time

Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and helping them thrive in school? A welcoming school in Sheffield is seeking a caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026.
About the Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to provide tailored support for students with a range of special educational needs. You will assist pupils in the classroom, deliver one-to-one and small group interventions, and adapt your approach to meet individual learning needs. Your support will play an important role in helping students build confidence, develop independence and make meaningful progress.

Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with special educational needs.

Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.

Adapt learning activities to meet individual student needs.

Encourage positive behaviour, participation and independence.

Support the implementation of individual education and support plans.

Monitor student progress and share feedback with teaching staff where appropriate.
Requirements:
-
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable.

A patient, compassionate and adaptable approach.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

The ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues and families.

A genuine commitment to supporting children with additional learning needs.

An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
