Salary: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time

Are you passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential? A welcoming school in Doncaster is looking for a caring and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their team from September 2026.

About the Role:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to provide classroom support for students who require additional guidance with their learning. You will offer one-to-one and small group support, encourage positive engagement and help create a supportive learning environment where students can build confidence and make progress both academically and socially.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide classroom support to students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.

  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.

  • Encourage positive behaviour and active participation in learning.

  • Adapt support to meet the individual needs of students.

  • Help monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff and parents or carers where appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.

  • A patient, caring and adaptable approach.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • The ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.

  • A genuine commitment to supporting young people's learning and wellbeing.

  • An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
