Salary: £460 - £650 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)

About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will oversee classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain engaged with the work provided and maintain a positive attitude to learning. You will supervise lessons across a variety of subjects, manage classroom behaviour effectively and help create a calm, productive environment where students can succeed. This role is ideal for aspiring teachers, graduates or experienced education professionals seeking valuable classroom experience.

Responsibilities:

Supervise classes using lesson plans provided by teaching staff.

Maintain a positive, safe and well-managed classroom environment.

Encourage students to stay engaged and complete their assigned work.

Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.

Record attendance and provide feedback on student behaviour and lesson outcomes.

Work collaboratively with teachers and other members of staff to support student progress.
Requirements:

Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.

Strong classroom management and communication skills.

Confidence leading groups of secondary-aged students.

A calm, organised and adaptable approach.

The ability to work independently while following school procedures.

An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
