Job Title: Speech and Language Graduate

Contract Type: Temporary, Supply, Full-Time
Start Date: September 2026
Salary Scale: £92 – £115 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are currently recruiting for a compassionate, enthusiastic, and motivated Speech and Language Graduate to work within a specialist educational setting in Scarborough.
This is an excellent opportunity for graduates aspiring to pursue careers in Speech and Language Therapy, Educational Psychology, SEN, or Teaching. You will work closely with experienced staff to support children and young people with a range of communication and interaction needs, helping them access learning and develop essential life skills.
About the Role:
As a Speech and Language Graduate, you will provide targeted classroom, one-to-one, and small-group support for learners with speech, language, and communication needs, alongside a range of additional educational needs. You will help implement communication strategies and create an inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive.
Core Responsibilities of the Speech and Language Graduate:
- Support students with speech, language, and communication needs through individual and small-group interventions
- Assist teachers in delivering inclusive learning activities that promote communication and engagement
- Encourage the development of social interaction, confidence, and independence
- Implement communication strategies and support plans under the guidance of teaching staff and specialists
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and the wider support team
- Contribute to maintaining a safe, positive, and nurturing learning environment
As the Ideal Speech and Language Graduate, You Should Have:
- A degree in Speech and Language Therapy, Linguistics, Psychology, Education, or a related subject
- A genuine interest in supporting children and young people with communication and additional learning needs
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
- A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to supporting learners
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Experience working with children or young people in education, care, or support settings is desirable but not essential
To Work with GSL Education, You Must:
- Have the right to work in the UK
- Provide an up-to-date CV with relevant reference information covering the last 2 years
- Have recent experience working with children or young people or transferable experience in a relevant setting
- Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
