Contract Type: Temporary, Supply, Part-Time
Start Date: September 2026
Salary Scale: £102 – £120 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education Hull Branch are currently seeking a Cover Supervisor to work within a high-performing secondary school in Ripon. We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic, and proactive education professional who can confidently lead lessons in the absence of the class teacher while maintaining a positive and productive learning environment.
Cover Supervisor Role:
The successful Cover Supervisor will supervise pre-planned lessons across a range of secondary subjects, ensuring students remain engaged and focused on their learning. We are looking to recruit a Cover Supervisor who can manage classroom behaviour effectively, establish positive relationships with students, and contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the school.
Cover Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Deliver pre-planned lessons and ensure learning continues effectively in the teacher's absence
- Maintain positive classroom behaviour and promote a focused learning environment
- Support students with classwork and encourage active participation in lessons
- Record attendance and provide feedback to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour
- Create a safe, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
- Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff to promote positive educational outcomes
Cover Supervisor Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people in a school, coaching, mentoring, or similar setting is desirable
- Confidence in leading a classroom and managing student behaviour effectively
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
- A flexible, resilient, and professional approach to working across different curriculum areas
- A genuine commitment to supporting students' learning and personal development
- An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
- An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
