Job Title: Unqualified Teacher
Location: Barnsley
Salary: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time

Are you confident leading a classroom and passionate about supporting children with social, emotional and mental health needs? A welcoming primary school in Barnsley is looking for an enthusiastic Unqualified Teacher to join their team from September.
About the Role:
As an Unqualified Teacher, you will lead lessons and learning activities for primary-aged pupils while maintaining a positive and well-structured classroom environment. You will deliver pre-planned lessons as well as adapt learning where required to meet individual needs, encouraging pupils to engage positively throughout the school day. Working closely with teachers and the wider SEND team, you will help pupils develop both academically and socially.

Responsibilities:

Deliver pre-planned lessons and learning activities across the primary curriculum.

Supervise classes and maintain a positive learning environment.

Support pupils with SEMH needs to remain engaged and participate in lessons.

Manage classroom behaviour using positive behaviour strategies.

Adapt classroom activities where appropriate to meet individual learning needs.

Provide feedback on pupil engagement and progress to teaching staff.

Build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents/carers where appropriate.
Requirements:

Experience working in a primary school, specialist setting or alternative provision.

Unqualified Teachers, HLTAs, Cover Supervisors or experienced Teaching Assistants looking to progress into teaching are encouraged to apply.

Confidence leading a class and managing behaviour independently.

A good understanding of SEMH needs and strategies to support pupils effectively.

Strong communication and organisational skills.

An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
