Job Title: SEMH Teacher
Location: Sheffield
Salary: Up to £200 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time

Are you a compassionate and resilient teacher who is passionate about supporting students with social, emotional and mental health needs? A welcoming specialist school in Sheffield is looking for a dedicated SEMH Teacher to join their team from September 2026.
About the Role:
As an SEMH Teacher, you will deliver engaging and tailored lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs. You will create a structured and supportive classroom environment, helping students build confidence, develop academically and make positive progress. Working closely with support staff and other professionals, you will play an important role in helping every pupil achieve their potential.

Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of SEMH students.

Assess, monitor and record pupil progress effectively.

Adapt teaching strategies to support a range of learning and behavioural needs.

Create a positive, structured and inclusive classroom environment.

Manage behaviour consistently in line with the school's policies.

Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, parents and external professionals where appropriate.

Contribute to the wider life of the school and support pupils' personal development.
Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

Experience teaching children or young people with SEMH needs is desirable.

Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

A patient, resilient and adaptable approach to teaching.

An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
