Salary: Up to £200 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)

Are you passionate about bringing history to life and inspiring students to explore the past? A welcoming secondary school in Barnsley is looking for a dedicated History Teacher to join their team from September.

About the Role:

As a History Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, encouraging students to develop historical knowledge, analytical thinking and a deeper understanding of significant events and cultures. Working alongside a supportive humanities department, you will help create an inclusive classroom where every learner is encouraged to achieve their best.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging History lessons across KS3 and KS4.

  • Assess, monitor and record student progress.

  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of individual students.

  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and carers where appropriate.

  • Contribute to the wider life of the school where appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Experience teaching History within a secondary school setting.

  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • A passion for delivering high-quality History lessons.

  • An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
