Salary: Up to £220 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time

About the Role:

As a Health & Social Care with Childhood Development Teacher, you will deliver engaging and well-structured lessons that develop students' understanding of health, social care and child development. You will teach across Key Stages 4 and, where applicable, Key Stage 5, helping students build both theoretical knowledge and practical skills while preparing them for examinations and future pathways. Working alongside a supportive department, you will contribute to a positive learning environment where every student is encouraged to achieve their potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Health & Social Care and Childhood Development lessons.

  • Assess, monitor and record student progress.

  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of individual students.

  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and carers where appropriate.

  • Contribute to the wider life of the school where appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Experience teaching Health & Social Care and/or Childhood Development within a secondary school setting.

  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • A passion for delivering high-quality teaching and learning.

  • An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
