Job Title: Early Years Practitioner
Location: Barnsley
Pay Rate: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are looking to appoint Early Years Practitioners for schools in Barnsley. We are seeking caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated individuals who can create engaging learning experiences while supporting children's early development in a safe and nurturing environment.
The EYP role offers the opportunity to encourage children's curiosity, creativity, and confidence during the most important stages of their development.
Early Years Practitioner Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging activities that promote early learning and development
- Support children's social, emotional, physical, and communication skills
- Observe, monitor, and record children's progress to inform future learning
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Prepare stimulating learning environments that encourage exploration and play
- Ensure children's wellbeing by following safeguarding and health and safety procedures
Early Years Practitioner Requirements:
- Experience working with young children in an early years or school setting
- Good understanding of child development and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
- Patient, caring, and enthusiastic approach to supporting children's learning
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills
- Commitment to creating an inclusive and nurturing environment
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
