Salary: £460 - £650 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time

Are you confident leading a classroom and looking to make a positive impact in secondary education? A welcoming secondary school in Sheffield is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join their team from September.
About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will deliver pre-planned lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 in the absence of the class teacher. You'll help maintain a positive learning environment, keep students engaged with their work, manage classroom behaviour and ensure learning continues throughout the school day. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers or experienced education professionals seeking a rewarding school-based role.

Responsibilities:

Deliver pre-set lessons across a range of subjects.

Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's policies.

Ensure students remain engaged and complete the work provided.

Support students with any questions relating to lesson activities.

Report on student behaviour, attendance and lesson outcomes.

Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff throughout the school.
Requirements:
-
Previous experience working with young people or within an educational setting is desirable.

Excellent communication and classroom management skills.

Confidence leading groups of secondary-aged students.

A calm, organised and adaptable approach.

The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

An interest in education or previous classroom experience is advantageous.

Have the right to work in the UK.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
