Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Rotherham
Pay Rate: £460 - £600 per week (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are looking to appoint SEN Teaching Assistant for inclusive schools in Rotherham. We want a patient, caring, and dedicated individual who can provide tailored support to pupils with special educational needs, helping them engage confidently with learning and school life.
Working as an Special Educational Needs TA gives you the opportunity to make a lasting difference by helping pupils reach their full potential.
SEN Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted one-to-one and small-group assistance based on individual pupil needs
- Modify classroom tasks and resources to improve access to learning
- Reinforce positive behaviour and encourage confident participation
- Collaborate with teachers when following personalised learning and support plans
- Record observations and share relevant progress updates with school staff
- Contribute to a calm, inclusive, and well-structured learning environment
SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Previous involvement supporting children or young people with SEN in a school setting
- Understanding of different special educational needs and suitable support approaches
- Capacity to remain patient, caring, and flexible throughout the school day
- Confidence communicating with pupils, teachers, and other support professionals
- Dedication to inclusion, pupil wellbeing, and positive educational progress
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
