Nursery EYFS Teaching Assistant

Location: Sittingbourne, Kent
Salary: £93+ per day
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Part-time / Full-time

GSL Education Kent are delighted to be working with a welcoming primary school in Sittingbourne to recruit a committed Nursery EYFS Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team from September 2026. As a Nursery EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support children within the nursery setting through play-based and structured learning activities
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging Early Years lessons and activities
  • Encourage children's social, emotional, and communication development
  • Promote positive behaviour and help create a safe, nurturing learning environment
  • Support early phonics, literacy, numeracy, and language development
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents to support children's progress

To be considered for this Nursery EYFS Teaching Assistant role, you should:

  • Ideally hold a Level 3 Early Years or Teaching Assistant qualification (although applications from candidates without this qualification will be considered)
  • Have experience working with young children within an Early Years, nursery, or primary school setting
  • Be patient, caring, and passionate about supporting children's development
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Hold an Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
