Salary: £92 - £110 per day
Contract: Full-Time, Term Time Only

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join a specialist educational setting near Scarborough from September 2026. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to support children and young people with social, emotional and behavioural needs, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
This position would suit candidates with experience in education, youth work, residential care, sports coaching, mental health support or other roles supporting children and young people.

The Role
As a Behaviour Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them to engage positively with learning.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and act as a consistent role model.
- Implement behaviour support strategies to promote emotional regulation and positive outcomes.
- Support pupils during lessons, breaktimes and transition periods.
- Work closely with teachers and other professionals to meet individual learning and behaviour targets.
- Encourage the development of social skills, resilience and independence.
- Help create a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment where every pupil can thrive.
The Ideal Candidate
We're looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with children, young people or vulnerable adults, particularly those with SEMH, behavioural needs or additional learning needs.
- Is calm, patient and resilient, with the ability to build positive relationships.
- Has excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
- Can adapt their approach to meet the individual needs of each pupil.
- Is passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning.
- Holds, or is willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.
