LSA Learning Support Assistant – Secondary Provision
Location: Wickford
Start: September 2026
 

A highly supportive Secondary LSA provision in Wickford is seeking an ambitious, compassionate, and forward-thinking Learning Support Assistant to join their specialist team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting pupils who struggle with anxiety, school avoidance, and emotional regulation. You’ll be part of an experienced team focused on re-engaging young people in education through tailored, relational, and therapeutic approaches.

What the role involves:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils experiencing LSA

  • Helping students build confidence, emotional resilience, and readiness to learn

  • Working collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams, and external professionals

  • Supporting personalised learning plans and wellbeing strategies

  • Creating a calm, nurturing, and consistent environment for learners

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience working with pupils with high-level emotional or anxiety-based needs

  • Strong relationship-building skills with a calm, patient, and adaptable approach

  • Someone proactive, empathetic, and passionate about supporting young people

  • Experience within SEN, SEMH, pastoral or therapeutic-based roles is highly welcomed
