About the Role

GSL Education Leicester are currently recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to work within supportive and inclusive primary schools across Leicester. We are seeking a caring, patient, and enthusiastic individual who is committed to helping children overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and Speech & Language difficulties. You will work closely with teachers and SEND professionals to provide both one-to-one and small group support, helping pupils engage confidently in their learning.

The SEND Teaching Assistant Role

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will be working as part of a supportive and dedicated team, focusing on delivering tailored support to pupils with additional learning needs and helping them access the curriculum successfully.

We are looking to recruit a SEND Teaching Assistant who is confident supporting children who may have barriers to learning and who can build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.

The Successful Candidate Will:

  • Have experience working with children or young people, ideally within an educational or SEND setting.
  • Demonstrate a patient, caring, and nurturing approach.
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be reliable, proactive, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Have a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
  • Be committed to promoting positive outcomes for all learners.
